How i built my website utilizing claude code
I am the furthest from a web designer you could get, i've always had an interest in it, at school we used dreamweaver to create basic website elements, later i graduated to using wix.com and the likes to design what i used to name "The CAW" CAW standing for "Chris's Awesome Website" Yeah....
But then i fell out of love with it, i didnt have the time to dedicate to learning the ins and outs and then all these years later, and about 12 months late to the AI train i start figuring out how AI is actually useful to development websites, and then i could start putting together my very own without spending months and months and £££ on developing it!
I started learning claude code and almost overnight figured out the foundations for this website. I started with basic prompts and learning how claude code interprits what i say into actual "proof in the pudding" elements in the webpage.

You still control the project, though. Claude reads your files, suggests changes, and writes code, but you decide what to keep and what to change. Think of it like having a very fast helper sitting next to you while you build your website.. you explain the idea, and it helps turn that idea into working code.
Building my personal website with Claude Code showed me how much faster and easier the process can be when you have a tool that helps with the repetitive parts of development. Instead of getting stuck writing setup code or fixing small mistakes, I could spend more time focusing on the design, layout, and overall feel of the site.
As the website grows, I’ll keep using Claude Code to help add new features, improve the design, and experiment with ideas. It doesn’t replace learning how web development works, but it makes building things much more approachable and a lot more fun.
So yeah, here we are. foillow a long to see how this develops and grows, hopefully as i learn more!
